The administration of the district of Ballia ordered an investigation into the transfer of Rs 50 lakh under the National Health Mission (NHM) to the personal account of a health service agent.
Ballia District Magistrate Aditi Singh said on Sunday that Rs 50 lakh had been deposited into the personal bank account of Vinod Kumar, the NHM district account manager.
Development director Praveen Verma said he has formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter and the report will be tabled soon.
NHM district program manager RB Yadav ruled out any irregularities in the transaction and said that due to some online banking issues Kumar transferred the money to his personal account.
The amount was then deposited into the PF accounts of 294 staff members.
