Twitter later removed and restored the verified blue check mark to Vice President Mr. Venkaiah Naidu’s personal account.
Officials in the vice president’s secretariat said that Naidu’s personal Twitter account @MVenkaiahNaidu had been inactive for a long time, and Twitter’s algorithm removed the blue badge.
They said Twitter was in the process of restoring the verification badge. The last tweet posted from the personal handle was on July 23 of last year.
Officials said Twitter was contacted after noticing this morning that the blue checkmark had been removed. By 10:30 a.m., the blue tick badge was restored, they said.
Twitter said the account has been inactive since July 2020. It said the verified badge has now been restored. The Vice President uses the official @VPSecretariat Twitter account to send tweets.
